Este estudo procura analisar um dos mais famosos Sermões do Padre António Vieira, nomeado "Sermão do Mandato". A análise do texto atua no sentido de identificar e discutir a influência dos princípios dialéticos na estrutura da obra, procurando enfatizar a tese, a antítese e a síntese que nela aparecem.
