Abstract

The proofreader’s task is discussed through a lens of an assumed volatility point between the different study strands on the subject, which is inherent to the act of reviewing. Thus, it introduces the notion of posing authorship in opposition to dialogism, which is brought to this study as an important aspect of Bakhtinian theory. From there; we explore the limits of what is considered “good” communication, which appears in disagreement with the power intrinsic to the idea of a style. Finally, the objective is to emphasize that, in line with the condition of restrictiveness of a text, the amplitude of the proofreader’s function adjusts, so that with this professional rests both the role of deobscuring the communicative faculty of a work, and bringing to the textual surface those “absolutely strange fragments.”
