This article aims to analyze Mozambican works by José Craveirinha, Paulina Chiziane (2000) and Agnaldo Bata (2023) in light of the theme and theory of religiosity. The term animism is problematized according to modern Africanist theories. To this end, the theories of Mbiti (1969), Paulin Houtondji (2010), Caroline Rooney (2006) and José Castiano (2013) were visited. These theoretical reflections allow us to understand the perspectives of representation in light of the dynamics of theories of religion, religiosity and animism. The methodology used is hermeneutic, a bibliographic research, which works from the perspective of discourse analysis, with readings as the first step towards the construction of the entire scientific investigation. Hermeneutics is not a mere study technique, but a method that can deeply expose reality and knowledge. The hermeneutic method mediates the process of interpreting texts.
