This paper porposes a comparing study between Cape-verdean song Nha cancera ka tem medida, by Pedro Rodrigues, performed, in different times, by Cesária Évora and by trio Coladeira, formed by musicians from Brazil, Portugual and Cabo Verde, and Cape-verdean poems from different generations that compose the canon from that country. In this respect, we aim at analyzing the interface among morna, coladeira and the poetry from Cabo Verde, specially by prevalence, in the selected texts, of a thought about the land and national cuture. It is possible to realized from the semiotics analysis of the song (TATIT, 1997) and from its comparison with the poems, how much, the “theme cape-verdeanization” (SANTILLI, 2007), explicit or implicitily, originates, from the content, the aestetic way the artistic texts range in Cabo Verde, by the written language or by the sung word. Since the poetics still romantics until the morna/coladeira revisited by the musical trio here reffered, passing through Jorge Barbosa and David Hopffer Almada, the natural semantic and the musicality of texts point to the direction of restatement of rythem and orality as founders elements of Cape-Verdean culture and poetry.
