Our proposal is to develop an analysis of the book Cães à Estrada e Poetas à Morgue (2022), by the Mozambican writer Deusa d’África. To base our reflections on the aforementioned corpus, we will anchor ourselves in the critical positions of Paulina Chiziane (2013) on Mozambican writing by female authors, Clenora Hudson-Weems (2020) on African womanism and Oyeronké Oyewumi (2021) on cosmoperception. The poetry of the Mozambican writer Deusa D'África shows a continuous exercise of the project of Mozambicanity based on a discourse that is organized in the feminine in order to territorialize a literary production, which outside of Maputo, echoes to the rhythm of xitende and disseminates an Afro womanism -Mozambican whose discussion agenda focuses on the condition of women. To develop the discussion, we will focus on the analysis of the poems “A língua da mulher”, “A costureira” and “Querida Disney”.
