Peer review process

The works are first submitted to the magazine's criteria check-list and then to the consideration of a member of the Editorial Committee in pre-evaluation. Approved articles are forwarded to two (2) ad hoc evaluators for their opinion (peer review process or Double Blind Review), taking into account that they are experienced researchers in the area and also have good academic production. Texts from other Sections, in addition to pre-evaluation and evaluation by the Editorial Committee, if approved, are sent to an ad hoc evaluator for an opinion.

To ensure the integrity of blind peer review for submissions to the journal, all possible care must be taken not to reveal the identity of authors and reviewers among themselves during the process. This requires that authors, editors and evaluators (who may submit documents to the system as part of the evaluation process) take some precautions with the text and document properties:

  1. The authors of the document excluded names from the text, replacing with "Author" and the year in references and footnotes, instead of author names, article title, etc.
  2. In Microsoft Office documents, the author identification must be removed from the document properties (in the File > Properties menu), starting from File, in the main menu, and clicking in the sequence: File > Save as... > Tools ( or Options on Mac) > Security Options... > Remove personal information from file on save > OK > Save.
  3. In PDFs, author names must also be removed from the Document Properties under File in the Adobe Acrobat main menu.
