the need for a global pact and the challenges of an ecological transformation

Abstract

The climate emergency has been a topic that has mobilized various sectors of society. In 2025, the subject of Integral Ecology became the theme of the Fraternity Campaign of the National Confederation of Bishops of Brazil as a way of implementing awareness and protection policies. In this sense, this article sought to analyze the need for a global pact and the challenges of an ecological transformation. Through a theoretical-dogmatic methodological approach, the research carried out a bibliographic, documentary and legislative survey to analyze the actions at local and global levels that aim to address the effects of global warming. An analysis was carried out of the main climate agreements made from 1995 to 2025, as well as the adaptations that occurred over time in their objectives and goals. As a result, it was observed that there was a need for a global mobilization, mainly of more developed countries, to form not only funds to raise money to finance research and technological solutions, but also to establish commitments capable of achieving improvements in indicators, reducing the planet's temperature and ways of adapting to extreme climate events.
