ECOPEDAGOGY AND PLANETARY CITIZENSHIP:
knowledge and practices for integral ecology in educational experiences

The Integral Ecology requires joint efforts to be understood, accepted, and implemented. From this perspective, the pillars of Ecopedagogy, an open and dialogic movement to think about new educational practices, offer concrete opportunities to promote eco-transformative attitudes in formal and informal education institutions, such as schools, catechism classes, and care settings. By promoting renewed education, Ecopedagogy empowers people as protagonists of their actions and mediations. Based on the original texts of Ecopedagogy, and with the help of reflections by theorists and pastoral texts that drive the Global Pact for Education, the objective of this study is to relate the pillars of Ecopedagogy to the theoretical reflection of Integral Ecology, pointing out the contributions that can arise from this fusion to encourage educators and managers to implement new concepts of comprehensive education and training. The anticipated results show the similarity of concepts and possible initiatives that foster comprehensive care, conscious action, and responsibility for the common good, that is, the value of human life and creation.
