Abstract

Este trabalho tem o objetivo de identificar e analisar as representações das violências policiais ocorridas no Rio de Janeiro, através do dossiê Megaeventos e violações dos direitos humanos, criado pelo Comitê Popular da Copa e das Olimpíadas em 2015. O propósito é entender melhor como os moradores da cidade se uniram para representar esse período de megaeventos, com as transformações que estavam afetando suas vidas. Para identificar essas representações, foi utilizada a análise de conteúdo segundo Laurence Bardin (2016). Para interpretar os dados obtidos, recorremos à teoria de representações sociais, segundo Sandra Jovchelovitch (2000). Esse estudo é relevante por explicar uma fase de transformação do Rio não pela visão da mídia hegemônica, mas pela percepção de seus próprios moradores.
