Using the method of “persuasive argumentative analysis” (RIBEIRO, 2019; RIBEIRO, 2019b; RIBEIRO, POZOBON, 2019), this text presents the discursive strategies employed by candidates Fernando Haddad and Jair Bolsonaro during the 2018 election campaign on Instagram. We observe the importance of the image as an argumentative and persuasive element in the electoral campaigns that, together with other tools of the political discourse and of the propagandist (CHARAUDEAU, 2016, 2017), integrates the communicational making and forms what we call “publicization of politics”.
