A study published in 2009 by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) showed that the communication promoted by institutions belonging to the Unified Health System (SUS, in Brazil) has flaws and, for this reason, it is no longer strategic, effective and efficient. A decade later, a applied master's research aimed to conduct a case study of the São Paulo City Health Department (São Paulo, Brazil). The purpose of this article, therefore, is to present the unpublished results of the dissertation, comparing them with the previous national research. It is possible to point out among the highlights the evolution of communication products - from the predominance of printed materials to online -, the confirmation or rectification of trends pointed out by the Fiocruz study and also the maintenance of certain actions, activities or decisions that were made communications consultants and that nothing or little changed ten years later.
