Abstract

In the year in which the centenary of the Week of Modern Art is celebrated, Luiz Ruffato presents us with a book that contains a historical survey of one of the most important modernist literary magazines for the country. Ruffato presents a detail on the magazine called “Revista Verde” (1927-1929), produced in the small town in the interior of the state Minas Gerais (Brazil) called Cataguases. Bringing together authors from the city and region, it also had the collaboration of great names in Brazilian literature, such as Carlos Drummond de Andrade. In addition to disseminating modernist content breaking Europeanized standards, the magazine provided literary interactions through letters with individuals from other countries such as Chile, Argentina and France, proving that good content was also produced outside Rio and São Paulo.
