This work analyzes the images that circulated during the Zika Virus epidemic in the media profiles within the social network Twitter. To this end, we collected 6 million publications from March 2015 to February 2016, of which we collected images published by the main media profiles in Brazil between 11/22/15 and 2/29/16. The 3,308 resulting images were studied using a quali-quanti method. The analysis resulted in the following categories: Cause / vector, Victims, Official Authorities and Healing. In the study we analyzed the first two, which is equivalent to 70% (2305) of the images. We conclude that the press reinforces a narrative that blames the population for the epidemic, since the mosquito is the biggest villain, disregarding issues such as the lack of basic sanitation.
