SPIRITUALITY AND ART man’s search for meaning
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present article assumes that art is one of the specifically human phenomena which confers a meaning to existence. It aimed to capture Viktor Frankl’s view of spirituality and art. To achieve this goal, it began with a discussion about the relationship between the search for meaning and the art from the perspective of the Logotherapy and Existential Analysis. In addition, it analyzed eleven artistic works which portrayed the book Man’s Search for Meaning. Through the analysis of some pictures of Nazi concentration camps it was possible to capture the spiritual positioning of their prisoners. It concluded that art would be a way of rehumanizing and transforming the world.
