THE SOURCES OF HILLESIAN MYSTICAL LANGUAGE

Abstract
In this paper we will try to dig out of the soil of Hillesian writings the roots that reinvigorate her writing. Etty Hillesum sews her mystical language with very eclectic threads, without any formal linguistic subsidies from religious traditions, which causes enchantment for her unusual language and later the desire to trace her sources. Therefore, in order to organize this research, we will adopt the methodology of bibliographic research in the human sciences. Starting with a bibliographical survey about Etty Hillesum's Diary and Letters, with the purpose of verifying the impact of literary authors and mystical writers who offer her keys of interpretation in face of her mystical experience. In this research we will rely on authors who have investigated Hillesum's work in a critical-analytical way, providing us with a solid analytical toolkit about these influences on the production of truly mystical categories found in Hillesum's work.
