AXIOLOGICAL INQUIRY: reading Jo. 5, 1-9 in the light of axiological espitemology according to Marià Corbí
Main Article Content
Abstract
In current times, many questions have arisen about certainties and truths. Where is the truth? With whom is the guarantee of certainties? Truths and certainties are axiological searches, reactions to the tangle of doubts that surround human existence in the face of reality. Jesus, the master of inquiry, questioned in various encounters and disagreements, the certainties and truths established in the religious systems of his time. Is it possible for a question to become axiological? In this presentation, based on the reading of the Gospel of John 1,5-9, this answer is sought in the light of the studies of Marià Corbí, the discipline of axiological epistemology. Three elementary steps of the Corbian discipline are presented to understand the axiological inquiry of Jesus to the paralytic, who was conditioned to the inner structure of the certainties and truths that he carried. The first step is to present free inquiry, as human systems enclose the consciousness of freedom; the second movement is to awaken the inquiry proper to reality; and, the third is to know the question about destiny, which asks what can be done to change the state that conditions, limits and, at the same time, numbs the possibilities. It seeks to find alternatives that can help new societies in the cultivation of human quality.
