Abstract
Este trabalho tentará apresentar pontos em comum e confrontar alguns preceitos teológicos, éticos e políticos de autores como Slavoj Žižek, Enrique Dussel e Leonardo Boff sobre a democracia, a ecologia, os direitos humanos e a potencialidade da libertação. Žižek mantém que a religião fundamentalmente cumpre duas funções: de terapia ou de crítica social. Para ele, apenas uma leitura ortodoxa do evangelho e uma postura “interessada e intolerante” por parte do cristianismo, pode fazer frente ao pensamento único. Dussel, partindo das vítimas do sistema, propõe um projeto transmoderno baseado numa leitura analítica do evangelho. Por sua vez, Boff oferece uma visão que supere o antropocentrismo, tendo como base uma mística ecológica e como horizonte a libertação dos pobres e da Terra.
