Abstract
Neste artigo, os autores examinam o tema da Geografia da Religião a partir do prisma da Sociologia, buscando vislumbrar o futuro das religiões no contexto metropolitano. E fazem isso tomando como referência o filtro teórico de Georg Simmel, autor que coloca as metrópoles como expressão capaz de transformar inclusive a psique individual. Os autores também definem a metrópole como “cenário geográfico total”, que substitui o regime de ciclos geoclimáticos por um regime calcado no capitalismo avançado. Observam o perfil das religiões nesse contexto, buscando localizar seu papel
