Abstract
O Poeta Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935), um dos mais controvertidos artistas do século XX, declarava-se um cristão gnóstico. Apesar disso, não se alinhou a nenhuma instituição religiosa e/ou doutrina estabelecida. Teve na dimensão religiosa a temática preferida. A proposta deste trabalho é compreender a religiosidade em Pessoa por meio da leitura de imagens suscitadas a partir de sua obra, e assim evidenciar na vasta produção significações poéticas que podem ser associadas a signos de religiosidade, seja no conteúdo manifesto ou latente de sua obra. Entende-se que Pessoa, e todos os seus personagens criados por intermédio da heteronímia, fez uso em sua escrita da linguagem simbólica dos mais distintos universos religiosos para compor sua própria forma de religiosidade. Visualiza-se que essa é pluriforme e talvez objetivasse contrariar os limites sociais estabelecidos para o exercício da fé.
