Abstract
O presente artigo faz uma rápida explanação sobre o contexto em que surgiu o evangelho de Mateus e se atém a uma possível leitura eclesial da conhecida “parábola dos contratados para a vinha”. O texto tem a pretensão de situar a atualidade desta perícope fazendo uma hermenêutica desses 16 versículos sob a ótica da vocação e da missão. Está dividido em duas partes: na primeira aborda o contexto em que este evangelho surgiu e os conceitos chaves desta perícope e, na segunda, enfatiza as implicações eclesiais da parábola. Nas considerações finais há uma reflexão sobre a atualidade da parábola em questão.
