Abstract

This paper is within the discussion about language and literature teaching, considering that it discusses the genre “song” role in classrooms and analyze textbooks collections currently available in Brazilian market. Therefore, and from that, we purpose possible ways to use songs in teaching and learning situations, especially in high school level. Our aim align, then, to the guidelines and researches that, nowadays, determine literature and Brazilian Portuguese teaching, considering the approach in teaching taking into account the genres and the texts layout and the sociocultural place songs occupies in our country, being an important genre to national identity formation.

Sílvio Rodrigo de Moura Rocha, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais

Sílvio Rodrigo de Moura Rocha (Sílvio Ramiro) é doutorando em Literaturas de Língua Portuguesa pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais. É mestre na mesma área e instituição, defendendo o trabalho De onde vem a canção?: uma leitura estética da música de Lenine. Possui graduação em Letras também pela PUC Minas. É professor de Língua Portuguesa do Colégio Marista Dom Silvério e de Literatura e Língua Portuguesa do Sistema Pedagógico Semear. Concentra suas pesquisas em estudos estéticos e semióticos entre o discurso verbal e musical na Música Popular Brasileira (MPB) e em educação estética, buscando a interseção entre a música, a poesia e outros textos literários, com o foco, atualmente, no papel formador da arte em relação ao sujeito.
