In this paper, we will approach the “problem” of consciousness through intersubjectivity, with the aim of mapping and evaluating the sociocognitive functioning of certain patterns of intersubjective experiencing that are manifested through language and, more specifically, through narrative practice. In order to do so, we selected a narrative interview, recorded and transcribed in 2016 within the scope of the GEDEM-UFOP meetings, through which the narrator reports her experience with the rupture of the “Fundão” Dam, in Bento Rodrigues (MG), and builds, intersubjectively, her identity as “hit by a dam” from three stages: non-belonging, identification and militancy. In theoretical terms, we will mainly rely on the contributions of Damásio (2015; 2018), Abrantes (2010), Zlatev (2008) and Gallagher & Hutto (2008) to argue that narrative practice can be conceived as a first-person plural data within the scope of consciousness studies.
