(Re)Orientando os estudos literários do Oceano Índico para o debate sobre literatura-mundial

O Oceano Índico tem sido definido e abordado como um paradigma crítico e literário transnacional para a construção de cartografias comparativas e multilíngue para o estudo das literaturas africanas (Hofmeyr, 2007). A pesquisa no campo dos estudos literários do Oceano Índico tem se destacado por sua ambição crítica e ousadia teórica na definição de novos conceitos e corpus, delineando definições originais para formas estéticas e literárias do mundo do Oceano Índico (Samuelson, 2017). Analisando o estado da arte deste debate, algumas questões podem ser levantadas: até que ponto o mundo literário do Índico é capaz de responder aos problemas e pontos cegos que caracterizam o campo dos estudos literários, hoje? Como observar (ou não) a estética e as formas literárias do Oceano Índico como registro paradigmático do sistema literário mundial? Este capítulo pretende ensaiar parcialmente as respostas a estas questões, abordando o Oceano Índico como uma paisagem marítima literária desigual e, por isso, esforçando-se por delinear uma seleção de formas literárias que apontem para a sua (re)composição material.
