This article emerges from the problem: How does content production occur within alternative and hyperlocal journalism? As a main objective, the work aims to understand how the group “Periferia em Movimento” constructs its journalistic narratives. About the specific objectives we have; identify which media are most used in the production of content and check if there is a space for sharing voices within these imagery and textual productions. As a hypothesis, it is believed that there is a repetition of what is done by the mainstream media, that is, production of content based on texts and images. Methodologically, a content analysis is performed with precepts by Laurence Bardin (2011), more specifically the categorization stage, which is defined by differentiating the analyzed contents and then regrouping them. This methodology is important to understand what is produced and posted on Facebook on the analyzed page. An analysis of a period of five consecutive days was carried out. In addition to the content analysis, this article conducted an in-depth interview with those responsible for the “Periferia em Movimento” page as a way to complement the information found in the categorization. As a result, it was possible to observe that the posts on the website “Periferia em Movimento” follow image patterns and textual patterns in their journalistic constructions. However, the possibility of popular participation in the construction of the journalistic process emerges with community journalism.
