Abstract

The aim of this paper is to apprehend the process of masculinities construction proposed in the project Sem Capa. On the pornographic platform Xvideos, the audiovisual initiative has 24 episodes developed with the intention of “making sex uncomplicated”. From reflections of masculinities studies, we note the mobilization of pedagogical elements that interact in the discursive plots of the platform, between users and creators. The reflection with Sem Capa showed that the creators of the project participate in this process by presenting their sexual experiences and telling how to be a gay man. It launches a peculiar desiring economy by participating in the establishment of possible forms of subjectivities and identities.

Doutorando em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (PPGCOM/UFJF). Bolsista pelo Programa de Bolsa de Pós-graduação (PBPG/UFJF). Mestre em Comunicação Social pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) e graduado em Comunicação Social - Jornalismo pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV). Integra o grupo de pesquisa DIZ: Discursos e Estéticas da Diferença.
