Reflections on the study of women’s football in Brazil

Abstract

In an interview with Dispositiva, professor Silvana Goellner discusses the main advances and setbacks in women's football in recent years and defends the importance of interdisciplinarity and an intersectional perspective as keys to advancing research in the field. Furthermore, the researcher highlights the theoretical-methodological perspective of oral history used in research on women's football and reflects on the gender representations and expectations that permeate the sport, analyzing how Sports Media fits into this context.

Rafaela Cristina de Souza, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Mestranda no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação Social da UFMG, na linha Processos Comunicativos e Práticas Sociais, e graduada em Jornalismo pela mesma instituição. Integra o Coletivo Marta (Grupo de Pesquisa em Comunicação e Culturas Esportivas). Tem interesse em estudos sobre culturas torcedoras e sobre o futebol de mulheres. Atualmente, pesquisa a atuação de coletivos de torcedores que se manifestam contra questões como racismo, machismo e LGBTfobia no futebol mineiro

João Vítor Nunes Marques, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Mestrando na linha de Processos Comunicativos e Práticas Sociais do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação Social da UFMG. Atualmente, pesquisa discurso de ódio e xenofobia contra o Nordeste no futebol brasileiro. Graduou-se em Comunicação Social, com habilitação em jornalismo, também na UFMG. Integra o Coletivo Marta (Grupo de Pesquisa em Comunicação e Culturas Esportivas). É subeditor de esportes do portal No Ataque e do Jornal Estado de Minas, com experiência na cobertura diária de futebol e de grandes eventos, como os Jogos Olímpicos de Tóquio, em 2021, e a Copa do Mundo de futebol no Catar, no ano seguinte. Tem interesse em temas como comunicação, política e xenofobia no esporte.

Olívia Pilar, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Mestra e doutoranda no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação Social da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, na linha Processos Comunicativos e Práticas Sociais, pós-graduada em Marketing Digital pela PUC-MG e graduada em Comunicação Social com ênfase em Jornalismo pela mesma instituição. Integra o Coletivo Marta (Grupo de Pesquisa em Comunicação e Culturas Esportivas). Tem experiência profissional na área de mídias sociais, atuando como gestora de conteúdos, e na escrita literária. Pesquisa e publica trabalhos que abordem temáticas sobre interseccionalidade, imagens de controle, representatividade e cultura popular, e atualmente se interessa por esses processos no esporte.
