Aleksandr Dugin, the Neo-Eurasianist Project and the Narrative of the New World Order

The article studies the thought of Aleksandr Dugin, ideologist of the Russian extreme right, who has been standing out in the formulation of neo-Eurasianism, a project of inserting Russia in the international order. The objective of the study is to present Dugin's political trajectory - highlighting his participation in the “Yuzhinsky Group”, in Pamyat and in the National Bolshevik Party -, analyze the appropriation he makes of the traditionalist thought of Rene Guenon and Julius Evola, address his reworking of the 1920s eurasianism and of the eslavophile thought, in addition to the Duginist conception of the new world order and the use of classical geopolitical theories in his geopolitical thought. The methodology is descriptive and qualitative, performing a critical analysis of the content. The study points out that Dugin overshadow the russian regional imperialist project, then his defense of a multipolar reorganization of the international system in opposition to North American hegemony places Russia as the leader of an imperial project in the “greater ” of Eurasia.
