This paper aims to point out ways of producing content and appropriation of themes from the Facebook publications of the Federal Universities of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and São João del Rei (UFSJ). Using content analysis as methodology, the posts were categorized and contrasted with the goals advocated in the Institutional Development Plans (PDI). The objective is to verify if universities use the social network for the visibility of the knowledge produced and its social representation.
