This study aims to analyze the figurations and relationships of motherhood in the brazilian teledramaturgy Renascer by Benedito Ruy Barbosa – in its version rewritten by Bruno Luperi in 2024 – based on the supporting character Morena. From the theoretical perspective of the existence of a myth about maternal love supported by Badinter (1985), the complexity of the character's role in the plot about loss, mourning, love and maternal care is taken into consideration. The aim is to understand how – and where – the work constructs the narrative about being/not being a mother, focusing the analytical perspective on the ways in which the images of the dungeon-house (FISCHER, 2006) and the shell-house (BACHELARD, 2003) are presented. Finally, it is understood that the narrative starts from perspectives that go beyond the understanding of a universal mother figure: the one who generates. Welcoming, preparing and letting go are intertwined in the plot of inhabiting, placing on screen the character accommodated in the image of a house-womb, since Morena is (de)constructed by the forms of being a mother.
