This article seeks to explore how the governance and algorithmic mediations of the YouTube platform changed during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic. It aims to understand the policies of moderation, monetization and recommendation of content considered reliable or disinformative. The work focuses on two fronts of analysis: exploring the documents published by YouTube and data on the most relevant "vaccine" videos published before and after the start of the pandemic. Among the results, we highlight an increase in efforts to avoid the publication of disinformative videos and a greater “relevance” attributed to recent videos on the subject of “vaccine”.
